As the Gallery manager at Jane's Art Center, I look forward to providing a space that is inclusive, beautiful and inspiring for our community, while keeping the spirit of Jane and Terry Jane England alive.
Andres is a ceramics artist and Ceramics Adjunct Professor at Daytona State College in Daytona Beach, and at Jane’s Art Center in New Smyrna FL. His work for the MFA thesis show was purely sculptural, but vessels are still part of his making.
Jon discovered his love of clay when he moved to Florida in 1998 and took a ceramics class while attending Seabreeze High School. He continued his ceramic education at DSC, taking wheel, hand-building, and raku classes.
Florida based artist Julie Latayan has been honing her skills in sculpture for the past several years. As a self-taught artist, Julie began her career as a painter and muralist. Her love of art and wish to share her talents led her to teach high school art for five years, and later opening her own gallery/studio.
Carly Gibran began working in clay in 1997 and earned a degree in Fine Art from Stetson University in 2003. She works with porcelain, making functional and sculptural ceramics that are inspired by the natural world. She has over 15 years experience teaching art and joined the Jane’s Art Center staff when they opened in 2019.
Since May of 2023 I have been an intern, and a participant in open studio at Jane's Art Center. There I have assisted the studio managers with new glaze formulations, atmospheric firings, and studio maintenance.
